報告人簡介:Professor  Shuang Cang holds a professor title and has both industry and academic  experience. She received her BSc as excellent graduate from Heilongjiang  University, MSc with distinction from Imperial College and Kings College, UK and  PhD degree from University of Aberty Dundee, UK. She worked for a leading UK  software company, where she was involved in developing statistical software for  the pharmaceutical industries and research laboratories. She also worked as  senior servant at the UK Government Research Laboratory and the Central  Government Department, where she applied statistical and pattern recognition  techniques to solve real and complex problems. She received and currently  managing EU funded projects and other projects such as Royal Society projects,  the income is over six million Euro in total as PI/CI.  In terms of publication,  she published international high-ranking Journal papers such as European Journal  of Operational Research, Decision Support Systems, Expert Systems with  Applications, IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics & IEEE  Transactions on Neural Systems & Rehabilitation Engineering etc. One of her  main research area is Digital Healthcare. The techniques such as Data Mining,  Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, Multivariate Statistics,  Forecasting, Segmentation and Economic Impact are used in her  research.
報告内容:The world population report predicts that the life expectancy  at birth will rise from 71 years in 2010-2015 to 77 years in 2045-2050 (United,  2017). Most countries face the problems to ensure that their health systems are  ready to adapt to the demographic shift. Therefore, the family members,  caregivers or community centre may worry about older people’s health condition,  daily routines and safety status when older people live alone. Providing this  group of older people with conventional cares might mean an extra cost, and even  disturbances for everyday life.  Population ageing affects human quality of  life, especially in health care, e.g., rise in health care cost, ineffective and  insufficient care. Thus, ageing populations pose a number of challenges to  families, communities and societies. A key research issue is to provide more  accurate, unobtrusive, low-cost and practical assisted technologies for the  elderly, and to help them live independently at home as long as possible in the  future. The assisted technologies for elderly people are emerging in these  years, which aim to offer alternative solutions to help maintain or improve  their quality of life by using associated technologies. This talk is about  current research work and future prospects and innovation of ICT enabled health  care from theory and practice perspective, especially concentrate on activity  recognition systems and monitoring the elderly’s specific activities and their  long-term behaviour pattern which enable to lead a healthy lifestyle and to stay  alone in  a safety condition and for elderly people.
